watch me work
You know this already, but maybe like me you haven’t done anything about it yet:
Showing your work is the best way to get good grades.
This is true in school. It’s true at work. It’s true online, too.
MATG is proof
Whether or not you like Hubspot, you’d have to agree that they do this content thing well. I mean, they kind of started it and refined it and made it into the art/science it is today.
One of Hubspot’s media channels, Marketing Against the Grain with Kipp and Kieran, has clearly felt the pull to do more and more AI-related video.
And now the show is a lot of practical advice from two dudes showing their work. Some titles (no links because I don’t want to get caught in spam filters and secretly I’m being lazy):
We Built a Mindblowing AI Agent in Slack!! (Step-by-Step)
How I Use Loom + Ai To Automate Everything I Do - Steph Smith
We Built An App In 30 Minutes With No Code + AI (LIVE)
Proof that you know your poop
The pace of progress is bonkers. It’s hard to be an expert in new AI tools that were literally released yesterday, but MATG manages to pull it off pretty well.
They move fast from seeing the new thing, playing around with it, building something useful, and showing their work.
They say “watch us go from idea to execution in 30 minutes.” It’s a powerful way to show that you can use the new tools. But more importantly, it shows that Kipp and Kieran know how marketing works at a higher level. They already know why they should build this thing or that.
A bet worth making
Here’s a bet I’m making for the next couple of quarters:
We make Accoil Analytics. It helps B2B Saas teams like Customer Success see how healthy each account is so they can keep more customers longer. That’s nice. It’s important to have low churn and high retention rates. But that idea makes for boring videos. If I say “you need to reduce churn,” you say “No doy” and click away.
But I’m betting that if we say “How I Reduced Churn by 25% With No-code Tools (Step-by-Step Workflow)” more people will stick around.
So stick around and see How I Grew Our YouTube Channel By Showing Our Work in 2025.
