Tell everyone what assumptions you made before:
Writing a proposal
Creating a go-to-market plan
Building a product
Whatever it is, there are assumptions baked in. Stating them early and up front saves a bucketload of headaches later.
Literally add a section to whatever planning page or document you’re writing titled “Assumptions” and bullet point as many as you can think of.
I’m assuming you:
Are in business of some kind
Care that people around you understand what you’re doing and why
Can spend the five minutes required to do this, even if it means sitting back and reflecting for a minute.
