You ever see that 'crazy' person in the supermarket, talking to nobody? Then you realize they're on the phone with airpods in?

I was that dude. But instead of being on the phone, I was talking to ChatGPT using Advanced Voice Mode. And instead of the supermarket, I was walking around the river in town.

Me and my robot teammate ChatGPT were hashing out the new onboarding flow for my team's app.

The conversation went kind of like this:

  • I asked for help outlining a simple onboarding flow and also spelled out the domains where ChatGPT can go to learn more (accoil.com and help.accoil.com)

  • It started giving me a typical onboarding flow

  • I interrupted to give more context about how our app works, telling it the areas of our current onboarding flow that I needed the most help with

What it came up with was a simple onboarding flow that includes some ways of thinking that we probably would have come around to, but hadn't yet. All by having a conversation. No typing.

In a 30-minute walk, I came home with an onboarding flow in table format that I'm going to refine and build out.

Is it perfect? Nope. Did it help me work faster? Yup.

The point is this:

Despite the hype and the skepticism, there are real productivity gains to unlock with tools like ChatGPT and Claude.

If you haven't tried them yet, give it a go. If you'd like some ideas on where to get started, hit reply and I'll share some other ways we use them at Accoil.

people don't care that much
There’s this worry that one missed opportunity or one failed attempt can mean doom for a product or a business.
