playbooks and use cases
Simple apps don’t have this problem:
When users are faced with a lot of options (ways to use your product), they may walk away.
Assuming a user will know how to choose one of many options puts the mental load on the user.
There are three ways I’m thinking about solving for this:
One -- better onboarding that guides a user to their highest and best use case.
Two -- ongoing re-activation campaigns to teach users more ways of working with our products.
Three -- before the sale, write as many use cases, workflows, playbooks, or recipes as possible.
By showing users what they can do, it helps them see past the endless options and focus instead on how they get value (nevermind the thousand ways other people might).
What if you had a list of the best ways to get value from your product written down in playbooks or recipes?
How many more people who just look would just buy?
