get it done or leave it to chance?
You ever notice that there are a few things nearly all humans talk about doing but really don't want to do?
Working out
Making sales calls
I'm still pretty bad about making sales calls (the rejection from email is much easier to take). But after deciding to get a workout in first thing in the morning, I've been much more consistent with it.
What this is really about is making the mental shift from "I'll do it when it fits" to "This is when I work out."
I went for a hike this morning and thought about the things that belong on my calendar.
Sales calls (dammit) and outreach
Writing these emails
A few other things
Family time
Exercise
It's a list of things I should do every day. There's no "billion dollar routine" in this. It's just a checklist of things that get done first thing every day.
After doing it this week, the rest of my days feel good. Like the work that gets done after these important things is a bonus.
What do you need to get done but maybe put off for when the time is right?
It's really a matter of getting it done or leaving it to chance.
