do you even write quarterly reports?
Do you write quarterly reports?
If you just rolled your eyes and sighed like I usually do, here's something.
Quarterly reports aren't a chore. They're an opportunity to think about what went well, what went wrong, and what you're going to do different in the next 90 days.
It's time to say "Yes" to the things that are working and "Hell no" to the things that aren't. That includes:
Habits and things that happen automatically
Clients and customers
Campaigns
People
Pie
Pie? Yeah, just checking that you're still with me here. Always say yes to pie.
Even if no one is asking you for a review or report, do it anyway. Amanda Goetz, a now solopreneur, has a format I like here.
A simpler way to do it is to reflect on Highlights, Lowlights, and the Focus for Next Quarter. Bullet points work.
Something else Amanda recommends is to block time on the calendar. Do it for the whole year. Add a half-day or full day each quarter when you'll not take meetings or work. You're going to reflect so you can build a better business in the next 90 days.
So there's your homework for today: create a meeting with yourself on the last Friday of December, then March, then June, and then September.
Don't worry about templates or formats or how it's going to work. Block the time. Go somewhere you don't usually work. Reflect and plan.

PS: I keep my personal quarterly reflections in Apple Notes. Nothing fancy.
